New Delhi. Hosts Australia have started in a very disappointing manner in the ICC T20 World Cup. The team got a crushing defeat of 89 runs against New Zealand. Batting first, the Kiwi team scored 200 runs for 3 wickets in the innings of Devon Conway’s unbeaten 92 runs. In front of New Zealand’s deadly bowling, Australia’s team was reduced to just 111 runs. New Zealand started the tournament with a big win of 89 runs.

In the first match, the start of the host team would be like this, no one had thought. First the bowlers were beaten up and then the top order knelt as soon as they arrived. Tim Southee clean bowled star batsman David Warner for 5 runs. After this, Captain Aaron Finch got Mitchell Santner caught by Captain Williamson for 13 runs. Conway’s amazing batting

Finn Allen made a stormy start for New Zealand and ended in Dowan Conway and Jimmy Neeson, who started beating the host bowlers. Allen was dismissed for 42 off 16 balls but Conway held one end till the end. He played an unbeaten innings of 92 runs off 58 balls, hitting 7 fours and 2 sixes.

During this innings, first Allen and then captain Kane Williamson, Glenn Phillips and Neesham with small but important partnerships took the score to 200 runs for 3 wickets. Neesham finally came and scored 26 runs in 13 balls and took the team to the score of 200 with a six.
