Babita Phogat included in Oversight Committee, allegations against WFI President will be investigated

New Delhi. In the past, India’s star wrestler Babita Phogat has been included in the Oversight Committee formed to investigate the serious allegations against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, President of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). The Sports Ministry took this decision on Tuesday. Brijbhushan Sharan Singh was accused of sexual harassment and other serious allegations by Vinesh Phogat and other female wrestlers. After this, many big wrestlers including wrestler Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia sat on a dharna at Jantar Mantar.

Sports Minister Anurag Thakur met these wrestlers and assured them of investigation and after the assurance, the wrestlers ended their strike. Although earlier there were only five names in the committee, on which once again the wrestlers tweeted objecting. After this, the Sports Ministry has included Babita Phogat in the inquiry committee. Along with Babita Phogat, the Sports Ministry probe committee will have legendary boxer MC Mary Kom, former badminton player Trupti Murgunde, former wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt, former SAI official Radhika Sriman and former CEO of Target Olympic Podium Scheme Rajesh Rajagopalan.

This committee formed for investigation will give report in 4 weeks
This committee will investigate sexual exploitation, harassment, threats, financial and administrative irregularities against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Brij Bhushan Singh will not look after the work of WFI until the investigation of the committee is completed. This committee formed to investigate the entire dispute will submit its report in 4 weeks.
