New Delhi. Only a few days are left for the T20 World Cup to begin. Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s ODI team captain Tamim Iqbal has expressed the lack of two players in the T20 World Cup team. He told that it would have been good if Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah were there in the World Cup team. Mahmudullah’s name has not been included in the World Cup squad while Mushfiqur Rahim has retired from the T20 format after the Asia Cup.

Mushfiqur Rahim was seen struggling in the shorter format for a long time. He scored only one half-century in the last 16 T20 matches. At the same time, only 5 runs could be scored during the Asia Cup. After this he decided to retire from the T20 format. Mushfiqur had told that he will focus in Test and ODI cricket. This is the first time that Mushfiqur Rahman will not be a part of the team in the T20 World Cup.

Tamim Iqbal said about both the players, ‘I had said earlier also that if Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyadh were part of the team for a big stage like the World Cup, it would have been much better for the team. When you fed these senior cricketers for a whole year then why throw them out just before the World Cup?
