Confusion on all matters from wicketkeeping to opening, how will India become champion in 10 months?

Team India Preparation For World Cup: Next year India will host the 50 over World Cup. Seeing this, Team India has started preparations from now itself. There are 10 months left for the World Cup to be held. At present, the Indian team has played a series of 3 ODIs against New Zealand. From the point of view of preparation for the World Cup, the beginning of Team India was weak. India had to face defeat in the three ODI series. The biggest reason for India’s defeat in New Zealand was the absence of senior players. Players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami were not part of the ODI series against the Kiwis. Apart from this, the players who were included in Team India for the tour of New Zealand could not do any special charisma.

India’s weak preparation

India started their preparations for the World Cup with New Zealand but the tour was not fruitful in terms of ODI series. In the first ODI played in Auckland, Team India did not show very aggressive game despite having a wicket. India batting first scored 306 runs. 3 half-centuries were imposed from India. The score of 306 on New Zealand grounds was not bad. But the bowlers disappointed. New Zealand won the first ODI with 17 balls remaining. Kiwi batsmen Kane Williamson and Tom Latham attacked the Indian bowlers fiercely. Both of them made the match one-sided by sharing a 221-run partnership. However, the second match got rained on. While the performance of Team India in the third ODI was disappointing. Indian batsmen could not perform anything special in this match.

the selectors are confused

As far as team selection is concerned, the selectors are confused. If seen for some time, they are betting on the worn-out players. VVS Laxman, former India batsman and coach on New Zealand tour, has said that India has a strong pool of players. But when it comes to team selection, mostly the same players are selected, so they have been playing for India since the past. Even if the selectors choose a new player during this period, there is no guarantee that he will get a chance to play. For example, the BCCI selectors are not able to overcome the infatuation of Rishabh Pant. Recently, if seen in the ODI series against New Zealand, both Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant were involved. Pant was included in the playing eleven of all the matches. While Sanju got a chance to play only one match. Pant has not been able to play any impressive innings in ODIs since July. While Sanju was not out in the ODI series against South Africa. Yet they are sidelined again and again.

How will India’s record be maintained

Before 2011, none of the host countries won the 50 or 60 over World Cups played. The visiting team always won the final. India changed this tradition under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. India became the first country in the world to host the World Cup in the year 2011 and won the World Cup for the first time. However, since 2011, this tradition has been maintained. For example, Australia won the title in 2015 while hosting the World Cup. Whereas in 2019, the World Cup was organized on the soil of England, which was won by the English team. After about 12 years, in 2023, India will once again host the World Cup. In such a situation, there will be pressure on India to win the World Cup at home. If Team India goes on to win the title for the second time in a row on its soil, then the BCCI selectors must have got out of the fascination of some players. Selectors should include those players in the team who have the ability to win matches.
