New Delhi. The Pakistan cricket team has lost to England in the first warm-up match of the ICC T20 World Cup. Without big players like captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan’s team reached the score of 160 runs for 8 wickets. In reply, England’s team managed to register an easy victory by achieving the target for the loss of 4 wickets in 14.3 overs.

Naseem Shah’s superb form continues and against England, he gave success to Pakistan in his very first over. Phil Salt became clean bowled by scoring just 1 run. Returning from injury, Shaheen Shah Afridi was economical but could not take wickets. England showed their natural aggressive game while recovering from the initial setbacks. Harry Brooke scored 45 off 24 balls while Sam Curran scored 33 off 14 balls to take the team to victory. Ben Stokes scored 36 runs in 18 balls.

Mohammad Wasim was the most successful in Pakistan’s bowling, conceding 16 runs in 2.4 overs and taking 2 important wickets. Naseem and Shadab Khan got one wicket each. Shaheen gave 7 runs in the bowling of 2 overs but could not open the account of the wicket.

Pakistan landed without a captain

In the warm-up match against England, captain Babar Azam and wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan landed without him. Shan Masood, who came out to open, was seen crossing the team’s batting single-handedly. The innings of 39 runs in 22 balls helped the team to reach 160 runs. Apart from this, no other batsman could even reach the score of 30 runs. Mohammad Wasim contributed 26 while Iftikhar Ahmed contributed 22 runs.
