This is a big achievement not only for RCB but also for the Indian Premier League (IPL). The inclusion of the only Indian sports team in the top 5 of the most popular sports Instagram accounts in 2022 is a big deal. Whereas, Virat Kohli has been the most liked cricketer in 2022. Like Kohli, RCB has also been the most popular cricket team in the world in 2022 on Instagram. The four teams that are included in this list ahead of RCB are all from football.

In a private survey by a social media analytics company, Royal Challengers Bangalore received 948 million interactions, the most for an Indian sports team. RCB has been a constant part of the IPL tournament since 2008. However, the unfortunate thing with the team is that despite being adorned with big stars, the team has not been able to win its first IPL title till date. Virat Kohli has also been associated with RCB since 2008. Virat is also the only Indian player to play for more than 15 years for just one IPL team.

The club that has benefited from Messi’s arrival is Paris Saint-Germain, which also had 1.07 billion interactions on Instagram and is in fourth place. Another club that was in the news for a long time was Manchester United. Manchester United is third on the list with 1.41 billion interactions due to the Cristiano Ronaldo transfer back-and-forth.
