FIFA Ban News: Under-17 Women’s Football World Cup to be held in India, FIFA withdrew the ban

Zurich: The games of the Under-17 Women’s Football World Cup will be held in India only. Football’s global body FIFA on Friday lifted the ban imposed on the All India Football Federation (AIFF). It has taken this decision after the Supreme Court has dissolved the Committee of Administrators. FIFA’s decision paves the way for India to host the Women’s Under-17 World Cup in October.

The AIFF was suspended on August 15 by FIFA for “unreasonable interference by third parties”. “The Bureau of the FIFA Council has decided to lift the suspension imposed on the All India Football Federation (AIFF) for improper third party interference,” FIFA said in a statement. FIFA said in a statement that the suspension would be lifted only when the decision to replace the AIFF Executive Committee with the Committee of Administrators was withdrawn and the AIFF administration would be given full control of the day-to-day affairs of the federation.
