In the first match of Group H, Portugal captain Ronaldo scored the first goal in the 65th minute, becoming the first male footballer to score in five different World Cups (2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022) Huh.

With this feat, Ronaldo overtook Brazil’s Pele, Germany’s Uwe Seeler and Miraslov Klose, who have scored in four World Cups. 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo has increased his international goal count to 118. He scored his eighth career World Cup goal in a 3–2 win against Ghana. His strange departure from Manchester United was followed by much controversy.

Portugal, led by veteran player Cristiano Ronaldo, scored three goals in 15 minutes to overcome a slow start to beat Ghana 3-2 in their FIFA World Cup Group H match here on Thursday. Captain Ronaldo gave the world number 9 team the lead in the 65th minute before Jaao Felix (78th) and Rafael Liao (80th) also scored for Portugal at the Stadium 974. Captain Andre Ayew (73rd minute) and Usman Bukhari (89th minute) scored for Ghana.

Portugal’s margin of victory against world number 61 Ghana could have been greater but the trio of Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva and Bruno Fernandes let down for most of the opening hour of the match. Portugal started the match well, creating some good moves in the first 10 minutes, but their forwards failed to break through the Ghanaian defence.
