Uthappa wants to give Rishabh Pant a chance in 2024 World Cup
Suggested change in Pant’s batting order
New Delhi. Indian cricket team’s wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has been struggling to make his place in the team for the last few months. This player, who has confirmed his place on the basis of good performance in Tests and ODIs, is still waiting for a brilliant innings in T20. He did not get much chance even in the T20 World Cup. Former opener Robin Uthappa has given a suggestion when Pant is given a chance in the next T20 World Cup.
Talking to Sportskeeda, Uthappa said, “Look, the next T20 World Cup is going to be held in West Indies and USA in 2024. If we look at the conditions there, I think Rishabh Pant should come in the top 3 to bat. According to me, he should either start the innings or come at number 3.
“If you look at his IPL record, he has done well whenever he has come up the order to bat. When he opens the innings or comes at number 3, that is where he has played his best cricket. If a player who has been traveling and is a match winner for you in Tests and ODIs, then he should definitely be given a chance to play at that place. You have to nurture their talent and ability. He should be given a chance to come to that place and become a match winner.
