Pandya said, ‘He played some shots which were excellent. If he keeps playing like this, he will do wonders for Indian cricket. The Indian cricket team will be with him when the time comes. Since making his debut in July 2021, Gaikwad has scored 135 runs in 9 T20 Internationals.

Pandya said, ‘We know what a great player he is. There was a time that Chennai would score 220 or 230 runs. We were having trouble bowling to him. I was feeling that we would not be able to get him out. Talking about his team’s performance, he said, “The wickets of me and Shubman Gill got us into trouble but Rahul Tewatia once again proved his worth and Rashid showed what he can do.”
