Dubai: The Indian team has ended its journey in the Asia Cup 2022 with a win. Team India defeated Afghanistan by a huge margin of 101 runs in their last match of Super-4. Batting first, India scored 212 runs. Virat Kohli scored the first century in T20 and the 71st century of international cricket. In the bowling, Bhuvneshwar Kumar did wonders in bowling and returned the pavilion to 5 batsmen. Afghanistan’s team could only score 111 runs.

Virat’s stormy century

Earlier, batting first after losing the toss, India’s openers KL Rahul and Virat Kohli batted brilliantly, making 53 runs without losing a wicket in the powerplay. Both the batsmen batted vigorously and took the team’s score to 87 runs in 10 overs.

Kohli hit his third fifty of the tournament in 32 balls. After this, Rahul also completed his fifty in 36 balls. But in the 13th over, India was given a double blow by Farid, Rahul was dismissed for 62 runs in 40 balls, hitting six fours and two fours. Suryakumar Yadav (6) also went on to go bowling.

After the fall of two wickets, Kohli and Rishabh Pant attacked the bowlers fiercely in the middle overs. Kohli hit his first century of T20 International career in 53 balls with a six. Kohli took 18 runs including two sixes and a four off Farooqui’s balls, who came to bowl the 20th over. Kohli scored 122 not out in 61 balls with the help of 12 fours and six sixes and Pant scored 20 not out off 16 balls with the help of three fours.
