Ind vs Ban: Miraj’s miraculous innings, Bangladesh snatched victory from India’s jaws

New Delhi. The Indian team has faced a humiliating defeat in the first ODI of the three-match series against Bangladesh. After getting 9 wickets, the team could not take the last wicket and Mehdi Hasan Miraj played a wonderful innings to turn the match into victory. Batting first, India scored 186 runs with great difficulty in 41.2 overs on the basis of KL Rahul’s half-century. Miraj’s innings of 38 runs gave victory to Bangladesh in the 46th over.

Chasing the target of 187 runs from India, the batsmen of the host team did not do well, but the partnership of the last wicket changed the condition of the whole match. Deepak Chahar shocked the team on the first ball to achieve the small target at home. Najmul Hussain returned to zero. Inamul Haque was sent back by Washington Sundar, while captain Liton Das was shown the way back on the back of the wicket by KL Rahul’s brilliant catch. After the fall of 3 wickets, the team came under pressure.

Miraj turned the match

After losing the 9th wicket on the score of 136 runs, when the Bangladesh team had almost given up hope, Mehidy Hasan Miraj played such an innings that the match became interesting. This batsman along with Mustafizur Rahman changed the course of the match. At one end, he first brought the match close by putting shots and then put the match in Bangladesh’s bag. On 39 balls, Miraj’s innings of 38 runs on the basis of 4 fours and 2 sixes gave the team a memorable victory.

Shakib’s paw, KL Rahul’s strong half-century

Team India had a very bad start in the first ODI played on Sunday 4th December. Experienced Shakib Al Hasan pushed India on the back foot by taking five big wickets one after the other. Opener Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma returned early after getting out. After this Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer also lost their wickets. After losing 4 wickets for 92 runs, Rahul pulled out a fighting innings from the team. With the help of 5 fours and 4 sixes, he played an important role in taking the innings of 73 runs to 186 off 70 balls.
