IND vs IRE: Under the guidance of ‘Guru’ Laxman, India will create a blast in Ireland, will be the last chance for Sanju

The preparations of the Indian team for the two T20 match series against Ireland are in their final stages. The first match will be played in Dvalin on Sunday. For this, Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson have returned in the team. Suryakumar and Sanju have got a place in the team in place of Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer. Pant and Iyer are preparing for the Test match against England. At the same time, VVS Laxman, head of the National Cricket Academy, will guide Team India for this series as regular coach Rahul Dravid is currently in Leicester with the Test team.

So Iyer and Pant are in the Test team, so Surya and Samson will definitely start. While Surya is making a comeback from a wrist injury, this could be Samson’s last chance to prove his mettle, which he will try to put to good use. Surya has been a regular in India’s T20 International team for the past one year and will return to his place. But as far as Samson is concerned, his replacement could be Deepak Hooda, who can bowl a few overs with his off-spin and has a good hitting ability.

However, if the coach sees the way Dravid plans, he does not believe in exploring more options. And by the time India plays the Asia Cup, they will need to decide on the venues as well. If Ruturaj Gaikwad hasn’t been much successful, the Chennai Super Kings opener may probably be given a couple of more chances against a weak Ireland to gather some runs and gain confidence.

Ishan Kishan has cemented his place as the reserve opener for the next few months and will continue in his role for some time and will open the innings with regular captain Rohit Sharma in the England leg of T20 Internationals. Caretaker captain Hardik Pandya, who batted at number five in the last series, is expected to retain the same position while Dinesh Karthik will move down a spot.

Although Karthik has been given a specific role, he can go ahead of Pandya depending on the circumstances. But it is not yet clear whether Dravid or Laxman will try ‘Jammu Express’ Umran Malik or Arshdeep Singh or continue with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Avesh Khan with Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal in place of spinners.
