New Delhi. Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik have emerged as two of Team India’s most promising players after earning call-ups from the national team after a decent stint in the IPL. Arshdeep said that his partnership with Umran has helped him a lot. Umran made his debut in Team India during the three-match T20 International series in Ireland in June and is seen playing in the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand. Meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh has risen fast for the ‘Men in Blue’ and has made a mark in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2022.

Arshdeep Singh said in the press conference before the third and final ODI against New Zealand, “The atmosphere with Umran is very good. He likes to joke a lot and as far as bowling is concerned, I get an advantage, because when it comes to playing 135 directly from 155, the batsman gets cheated by a lot of pace.

He further said, “We enjoy a lot both inside and outside the field. We will try to continue this partnership off the field as well. While Umran relies on pace, Arshdeep has the ability to gain pace with the ball and maintains a good line and length. The left-arm pacer further said that partnerships play an important role either with the bat or the ball and one must be patient in the 50-over contest.

Arshdeep further said, “ODI is a long game, partnership plays an important role, like batting, partnership is also important in bowling. I see how my partner is bowling at the other end. If he is bowling well, getting more out of the surface then I will try and stop runs to help him. In the end it is a team sport. If I’m attacking, my partner at the other end will be on the defensive.”

Let us tell you that Umran Malik recently played his first ODI on the ongoing tour of New Zealand and did an impressive performance by taking two wickets. Both Arshdeep and Umran are very different bowlers in terms of their strength. Arshdeep relies on swing, change of pace and yorkers while Malik’s biggest asset is his pace. The third and last ODI between India and New Zealand will be played on Wednesday (30 November).
