He scored 97 runs in 99 balls while opening in this match in Port of Spain. In the 34th over of the innings, Dhawan was caught by Gudakesh Moti in the hands of Shamar Brooks. Brooks took the catch of Dhawan while diving in the style of ‘Superman’.

Shikhar Dhawan, who made his international debut through the same format in 2010, has so far scored 17 centuries and 36 half-centuries in ODIs at an average of over 45. He was earlier part of the ODI series against England. He scored an unbeaten 31 runs in the first ODI but after that both could score only 10 (9 and 1) runs in the ODIs.
