Independence Day: Kevin Pietersen joins the Amrit Festival of Independence, wishes Independence Day by posting a post in Hindi

New Delhi: India is celebrating its 76th Independence Day. On this day in 1947, the country got independence from the British. On the occasion of 75 years of independence, Amrit Mahotsav is being celebrated across the country. On this occasion, wishes are pouring in for India from all over the world. Former English captain Kevin Pietersen to South African origin has given a message to the people of India. He has given his message in Hindi.

Kevin Pietersen wrote on social media site Twitter – Happy 75th Independence Day, India. Be proud and stand tall. You are building a better tomorrow for all! He tweeted this even after not knowing Hindi. Instead of standing tall, he might have been trying to write, stand firm. Pietersen is one of those foreign players who are very much liked in India.

Kevin Pietersen has already tweeted in Hindi. Even after retiring from cricket, he continues to come to India. Apart from commentating during the IPL, Pietersen also runs a campaign to save the rhino, under which he has also visited Kaziranga National Park in Assam. He also made a documentary there.

Apart from Pietersen, many foreign players also wished India on Independence Day. Australian opener David Warner, who made a lot of fans in India by playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL, is also included in this. “Happy Independence Day to our family and friends in India,” Warner wrote alongside the picture of the tricolour. Former Australia women’s team captain and Pune-born Lisa Sthalekar also extended her best wishes on the occasion. She wrote, ‘The more I travel to the country where I was born, the more I get to know about the times before and after independence.’
