Kishan said, ‘Rohit sir kept telling me that he can hit the ball for a long time whenever he wants. But he told me that what is important in the upcoming matches, where I have been stuck earlier, is to work on my single-rotation. He has helped me in this aspect and asked me to try to rotate the strike in the nets. Kishan further said, ‘He told me that I can hit the ball whenever I want but by rotating the strike, I can put the bowlers under pressure too. So, I told these things to Rohit bhai. Our job is to do our homework, be it fitness, sleeping pattern or disciplined life, we have to continue that.

Kishan spoke about how playing at home is helping him and India prepare for the men’s T20 World Cup in Australia later in the year. “When you play in a big field, you get a lot of gaps. Instead of always hitting the ball hard, you need to duck the ball into the gap and that way, you learn what you lack, which needs to be filled.

Kishan further emphasized on how important it is to count chances regardless of the batting position in the team when regular players are absent. When you come to this level playing for the Indian team, you have to be ready for every opportunity that comes your way because a lot of players are doing well.

“We have to be prepared, prepare in the nets and watch our seniors who are doing well in that position, so that’s how we learn,” he said. It’s not just that you go out there and do the opening. You have to wait for your time. But when you get it, you have to take advantage of it.’
