Ishan Kishan: How Ishan Kishan hit his own leg, used to dream of Test, now will be OUT from T20 too!
Ishaan’s dream is to play Test
Ishaan Kishan had said in one of his interviews that he wants to play Test cricket for India. However, he has got a chance to debut only in ODIs and T20s. Ishaan definitely created a sensation by scoring a double century on the tour of Bangladesh in ODI cricket but he has not been able to maintain his form. In such a situation, there is little hope that he will get a debut in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Test series against Australia.
Apart from Ishaan, KS Bharat has also got a place in the team as a wicketkeeper. Bharat has had a great experience playing in domestic cricket. In such a situation, captain Rohit Sharma would like to avoid taking risks against a strong challenge like Australia.
Ishaan Kishan’s last 14 innings in T20
Ishaan Kishan is playing continuously in T20 for Team India. Ishaan has not been able to score 50 or more runs for India in 14 consecutive innings. He made his last half-century on 14 June 2022 against South Africa. At the same time, if we look at his figures since then, it has been very disappointing. Ishaan could score 200 runs in his 14 matches at an average of just 14.28. During this, his highest score has been 37 runs.
Ishaan remains ineffective in ODIs as well
Ishaan Kishan has not been effective not only in T20 but also in ODI cricket. On the tour of Bangladesh, he definitely converted the first century of his career into a double century, but after that his performance in the three ODI series against New Zealand was very poor. Although the ODI series was also played with Sri Lanka before New Zealand, but Ishaan did not get a chance in that.
On the other hand, if we look at his score in three ODIs against New Zealand, it has been 5, 8 and 17, while just before that he showed amazing by scoring a double century. In such a situation, it can be said with certainty that Ishaan is hitting his own feet by not taking advantage of the opportunity he is getting.
