Brandon King scored 36 runs in 25 balls, Nicholas Pooran scored 41 runs in 19 balls and Romaria Shepherd played stormy innings of 44 runs in 22 balls. West Indies set South Africa a target of 221 runs in 20 overs. In response, South Africa also batted fast. Reeza Hendricks brought wrinkle on the forehead of the Caribbean players with an innings of 83 runs in 44 balls. Riley Russo also scored 42 runs in 21 balls. Captain Aiden Markram scored 35 runs in 18 balls. Markram was at the crease in the last over. Tried his best but fell behind by 7 runs. South Africa could only score 213 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs.

Who was the hero of West Indies’ victory

Romario Shepherd batted at a strike rate of 200. He shared a 59-run partnership in 26 balls with Alzarri Joseph for the ninth wicket. Joseph took five wickets for the first time in his T20I career to keep South Africa away from the target. The WI vs SA T20 series also ended with a thrilling encounter.

West Indies have won the second consecutive T20 series in South Africa. Earlier in 2015, the team had won the T20 series in SA. Only Sheldon Cottrell and Jason Holder are from that team who are in the current team. After the victory, the Windies players celebrated a lot by taking the trophy.
