MS Dhoni: In the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans are in for a treat. Many happiness seems to be coming for the fans of the team. Along with releasing the list of retained players for the upcoming season, the team has also revealed the name of its captain for the next season. Fans who have been waiting for three years to watch the Chennai match in Chepauk will see MS Dhoni captaining the team once again.
There was a reshuffle in the captaincy last season
Just before the start of last season, Dhoni gave up the captaincy and handed over this responsibility to Ravindra Jadeja. The team’s performance under Jadeja’s captaincy was very poor and after that he left the captaincy in the middle of the season. Dhoni was again made the captain of the team. Before the upcoming season, the team management has made it clear that even though Jadeja has been retained, only Dhoni will captain the team next season. There was a lot of rift between Jadeja and the team management, but probably after Dhoni’s intervention, the two sides have reached an agreement and Jadeja is happily ready to play in the yellow jersey again.
This could be the last season for Dhoni.
It is believed that Dhoni may retire from cricket after playing the next IPL. 41-year-old Dhoni is being asked about retirement for three consecutive years, but every time he avoids this question. However, Dhoni had reiterated every time that he had to retire while playing in Chennai. This time if that dream of Dhoni will be fulfilled then maybe he can also announce his retirement.
