Mukesh Ambani will buy world’s most famous football club, ongoing talks with Liverpool FC

London: Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani has joined the race to buy world famous English football club Liverpool FC. This report is from England’s daily newspaper ‘The Mirror’. The current owner of the English Premier League (EPL) club is looking to sell it to Fenway Sports Group (FSG), which bought the Merseyside club in October 2010.

FSG are keen to sell their club for four billion British pounds, The Mirror reported. According to the report, Ambani, the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, has inquired about the club. In the rating of ‘Forbes’, the Mumbai headquarters of the world’s eighth richest Ambani and people associated with the company could not confirm this.

According to the FSG statement, “FSG has received interest from third parties to become shareholders in Liverpool.” FSG has already said that under the right conditions, we will consider new shareholders whether it will be in the interest of Liverpool or not.

Jurgen Klopp’s team has enjoyed considerable success under FSG, winning the Premier League title, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the Carabao Cup and the European Super Cup over the years. The US and Gulf countries are also showing interest in acquiring the club. Ambani’s company owns the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket team Mumbai Indians and is a business partner of the All India Football Federation, apart from organizing the Indian Super League football competition.
