Mumbai Indians created history, won the first WPL title, beat Delhi Capitals in a thrilling match

New Delhi. By winning the first edition of the Women’s Premier League, they have registered their name in the pages of history. On Sunday, March 26, in the match played at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, they won against the team. Batting first, the Delhi Capitals team scored 131 runs for 9 wickets. The Mumbai team achieved the target of victory in the last over on the basis of Net Sciver Brunt’s Fifty.

Delhi Capitals’ start in the final was opposite to expected and Issy Wong pushed the team on the backfoot by giving three setbacks one after the other. Shefali Verma, Alice Capsey and then Jemimah Redriguez were shown the way out one after the other. Captain Meg Lanning handled one end after continuous setbacks and took the score forward. Marijan Kapp returned after scoring 18 runs and then the whole team was disintegrated. Captain Lanning returned after scoring 35 runs.

Shikha and Radha add color

After falling for 9 wickets for 79 runs, Shikha Pandey came and opened her hands and got full support from Radha Yadav at the other end. Shikha scored 27 runs in 17 balls with the help of 3 fours and 1 six, while Radha scored an unbeaten 27-run innings of 131 runs, scoring 2 fours and 2 sixes in 12 balls.
