Next World Cup to be played in India, know when and in which format it will be

ICC ODI World Cup 2023 will be the 13th edition of this tournament.
India won the first ODI World Cup in 1983 under the captaincy of Kapil Dev.
The second ODI World Cup was won by Mahendra Singh Dhoni in 2011 for India.

New Delhi. India’s campaign came to an end after suffering a 10-wicket loss in the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The final match of the T20 World Cup will now be played between Pakistan and England at the Melbourne Cricket Stadium (MCG) on 13 November. After performing brilliantly throughout the tournament, the Indian has finally failed to make it to the finals. Now for the next ICC T20 World Cup, the Indian team will have to wait for 2024, because the next T20 World Cup will be jointly organized in West Indies and USA. But before this, in the very next year i.e. 2023, India will get a chance to play another World Cup and that too on home soil.

The next ICC Cricket World Cup will be held only in the coming year i.e. 2023. It will be hosted entirely by India for the first time in World Cup history. The last three editions (1987, 1996 and 2011) were jointly hosted by India. Unlike the 2021 and 2022 World Cups, the 2023 World Cup will be played in the ODI format i.e. 50-over game format. A total of 10 teams will be involved in the 2023 ODI Cup. This will be the 13th edition of the tournament. The first edition was played in England and Wales in 2019. This edition was won by England.

The tournament is scheduled to be held in October-November next year and will be played in a round-robin and knock-out format like the previous ODI World Cup. The 10 teams will be determined according to the 2020-23 Super League tournament points table, where the top 7 teams and hosts India qualify directly. The remaining two places will be determined through the 2023 World Cup Qualifiers to be held in Zimbabwe in June-July 2023.
