After the match, Rizwan said, ‘I am lucky that in a match like semi-final, I got a half-century with my bat. I struggled a lot throughout the tournament in and out but we worked hard on our game and kept believing in it.

He said, ‘When we went to the dressing room after fielding, I told Babar that we will play aggressively from the beginning with the new ball but when we finished the power play, we changed the strategy and decided that either of the two One has to take the game longer because we knew this pitch was going to be very difficult. We didn’t have a good start in the tournament but our players didn’t lose faith.

New Zealand’s batting was ineffective

In this semi-final match against Pakistan, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss and decided to bat first, but this decision did not work for him at all. In the match, New Zealand’s team managed to score only 152 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Although Darrell Mitchell played an innings of 53 runs in 35 balls for the team, but the batting remained very low from the second drop.

Apart from Mitchell, Williamson played an innings of 46 runs in 42 balls. During this, he was able to hit a four and a six. Devon Conway contributed 21 and Jimmy Neesham contributed 16 runs.

Babar and Rizwan’s half-centuries

Captain Babar Azam scored 53 runs for the Pakistani team chasing the target of 153 runs given by New Zealand. While Mohammad Rizwan scored 57 runs. With this brilliant batting by Babar and Rizwan, Pakistan lost a single wicket after scoring 80 runs in 10 overs.
