PAK vs NZ T20 World Cup: Like Imran, Babar inflicted deep wounds on New Zealand, then broke the dream

New Delhi. Pakistan has entered the final of T20 World Cup 2022. He beat his 30-year-old wound by defeating New Zealand in the semi-finals. This match between Pakistan and New Zealand was reminded of the 1992 ODI World Cup. Pakistan had defeated New Zealand in the 1992 World Cup semi-final itself. Now Pakistan will face India or England in the final.

Ever since the T20 World Cup 2022 has started, a coincidence is repeating itself time and again. This coincidence is of becoming the champion of Pakistan. When the Pakistan team led by Babar Azam lost its first two matches, everyone was making fun of its title claim. But now he has stopped speaking of those veterans by reaching the finals.

Pakistan’s journey in the current T20 World Cup has been similar to the 1992 ODI World Cup. He somehow reached the semi-finals. Pakistan had the lowest points among the four teams that reached the semi-finals. In 1992 also he reached the semi-finals with great difficulty. Coming to the semi-finals, Pakistan raised the level of their game. He slammed the New Zealand team, which was showing a better game than him in the tournament. The interesting thing is that like this time in 1992 too, Pakistan team led by Imran Khan defeated New Zealand.

This is the fourth time in the T20 World Cup that New Zealand’s team has lost a knockout match (semi-final or final). In the year 2021, Australia won the trophy by defeating New Zealand in the final. Apart from this, New Zealand has also lost the semi-finals 3 times in the T20 World Cup.

Now New Zealand will face India or England in the final. The second semi-final of the T20 World Cup between India and England will be played on Thursday, November 10. If India wins in the second semi-final, the final will be like a replay of the 2007 T20 World Cup. Then the Indian team won the trophy by defeating Pakistan under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. If India lose the semi-final, then the final will be a replay of the 1992 ODI World Cup. Cricket lovers know that in 1992, Pakistan defeated England in the World Cup final.
