Pakistan saved shame, captain did wonders in batting and bowling, series 2-1 to Afghanistan

New Delhi. Pakistan ended the 3-match series 1-2 by defeating hosts Afghanistan (PAK vs AFG) in the last T20 match played at the Cricket Stadium in Sharjah. Afghanistan had already won the series by winning two consecutive T20s. In the third T20, Pakistan had set a target of 183 runs to win against Afghanistan, but the host Afghan team was bundled out for 116 runs in 18.4 overs. Azmatullah Umarzai scored the highest innings of 21 runs from Afghanistan.

Experienced wicket-keeper opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz contributed 18 while Mohammad Nabi contributed 17 runs. Captain Rashid Khan returned to the pavilion after scoring 16 runs. For Pakistan, Ehsanullah and captain Shadab Khan took 3-3 wickets. One wicket went to Imad Wasim, Zaman Khan and Mohammad Wasim Junior.

Pakistan scored 182 runs for 7 wickets
Earlier, Afghanistan won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first. Pakistan scored 182 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Opener Sam Ayub scored the highest innings of 49 runs while Shadab Khan was dismissed after scoring 28 runs. Iftikhar Ahmed scored 31 runs in 25 balls while Shafiq scored 23 runs. For Afghanistan, spinner Mujeeb Ur Rehman took 2 wickets, while Fazhalak Farooqi, Nabi, Farid Ahmed, Rashid Khan Karim Janat took one wicket each.

Shadab became player of the match
Shadab Khan was adjudged Player of the Match for his all-round performance, while Mohammad Nabi, who performed brilliantly throughout the series, was adjudged Player of the Series. Afghanistan won the first T20 by six wickets while in the second T20 they won by 7 wickets. Afghanistan has won a series against Pakistan for the first time.
