New Delhi. The England team, which became champions by defeating Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup final, is in high spirits. This is the team’s second ICC title after winning the ODI World Cup in 2019. Within 3 years, the team does not want to stop even after winning the title of two world champions. Now India has set its eyes on the ODI World Cup to be held in 2023 and is ready to make all kinds of bets to achieve it. She is trying to recall the recently retired all-rounder from ODIs.
The credit goes to Ben Stokes for leading the England cricket team to victory against Pakistan in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup. He took the team to victory by playing an unbeaten half-century at one end. Stokes played an unbeaten inning of 53 runs in the match against Pakistan. Earlier in the 2019 ODI World Cup final also, he made the unbeaten half-century playing team the champion.
Stokes can return in ODIs
England’s limited overs coach Matthew Mott expressed hope that Stokes would change his decision. He said, “When he told me about saying goodbye to ODI cricket, I first said that I am with him in his every decision. I also said that there is no need to retire. He can play whenever he wants. It is their decision. Next year the World Cup is to be held and we don’t want to take much T20 cricket, but it is for them to decide.”
Mott said, “The more he can play for us, the better. He’s doing a great job as a Test captain but he’s a vital part of our strategy in limited overs cricket. He is an expert player of all three disciplines. He is such a player who can win matches on his own.
