Rohit Sharma may quit T20I captaincy before next World Cup, know who can get the command

Rohit Sharma: Indian cricket team is playing T20 World Cup in Australia and Rohit Sharma is captaining the team. 35-year-old Rohit got the captaincy permanently after the T20 World Cup last year. The next T20 World Cup is to be played in 2024 and Rohit is not expected to play as the captain.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering replacing Rohit Sharma with a new captain in the T20 team. KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya can be drafted as T20 captains after next year’s ODI World Cup.

According to cricket website InsideSports, a BCCI official said, “It is not that pressure will be put on him to leave a format. They should be rotated to keep them ready for big series and ICC tournaments. A captain cannot be rotated more than once. If there is no focus on T20 then we have to give chance to Hardik, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant.

Hardik, Pant and Rahul do captaincy in IPL

Pant, Hardik and KL all three captain in the Indian Premier League. These three players have also captained the Indian team. After the ODI World Cup to be held in 2023, a decision can be taken about the captaincy of the T20 team. Hardik made his team the IPL champion while captaining in the first season itself. Pant has also been very successful in captaincy. However, till now Rahul has not got that much success as a captain in the IPL.
