Series will be played between ‘India A’ and ‘New Zealand A’ soon, know when the matches will start

India A vs New Zealand A BCCI: After several months, the BCCI is set to resume the India A schedule from September, possibly with tours from New Zealand and Australia. The India A event will be managed by VVS Laxman and his NCA staff group colleagues Sairaj Bahule and Sitanshu Kotak.

New Zealand A will reach India by the end of August for three four-day matches and as many List A matches. A report by ESPN Cricinfo states that all matches are likely to be held in Bengaluru.

According to the information, the BCCI is also considering the possibility of a pink ball match during the series, but the final approval is awaited. Notably, New Zealand A played a pink ball match on their last tour of India in 2017-18. If the match goes ahead in next month’s series, it will be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The tour of New Zealand A is expected to overlap with the Duleep Trophy, the regional first-class competition, which will mark the start of India’s domestic calendar for the 2022–23 season. This six-team tournament will be played in Chennai and Coimbatore from September 8 to 25.

The home series against New Zealand will be the first for India A since the tour of South Africa late last year, just ahead of the national team’s three-Test series in December.

The report further said, “BCCI is in talks with Cricket Australia for a tour at the end of the year. This tour is most likely to take place in November. Before the start of the Ranji Trophy and India’s next Test assignment will be in Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh tour, consisting of two Tests, will be India’s final World Test Championship (WTC) event. They will conclude the current phase of the WTC with a four-Test series at home against Australia in February-March.
