Shubman Gill Century: Shubman Gill blasted in T20 after ODI, hit century against New Zealand

Ahmedabad: Indian team opener Shubman Gill was a flop in the first two matches of the T20 series against New Zealand (IND vs NZ). But in the third match of the series, Gill has hit a century. Gill played his first T20 International match against Sri Lanka only last month. Fifty did not even come out of his bat before this match.

Shubman Gill completed his century off 54 balls. In the 18th over of the Indian innings, Gill completed his century off 54 balls. In this innings he hit 10 fours and 5 sixes. He completed his century with the help of fours. He completed his fifty in 35 balls. After this Gill started scoring fast. He had earlier scored only one century in domestic T20s.

Shubman Gill has become the 7th male batsman for India to score a century in T20 Internationals. Before him Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Deepak Hooda and Suryakumar Yadav have scored T20 centuries for India. Gill remained unbeaten on 126 off 63 balls. He hit 12 fours and 7 sixes. This is the biggest innings by any Indian batsman in T20 International. Virat Kohli scored 122 runs against Afghanistan.

Did amazing work in ODI as well

Shubman Gill has rocked in ODI cricket as well. In the ODI series against New Zealand itself, Gill’s bat scored a double century. Before that he had also scored a century against Sri Lanka. He is also the fastest batsman to score 1000 runs for India in ODIs. But he could not do anything special in the first 5 T20 International matches of his career. But he made up for it in a single match.
