Side effect of Korana, venue of BWF World Tour Finals changed

New Delhi. The upcoming BWF World Tour Finals will be held in Bangkok instead of Gwangju from December 7 due to Corona infection. This tournament was to be held from 14 December. But due to the issue of availability of the stadium, it will now start a week earlier. The Badminton World Federation announced this on Tuesday.

The federation said in a statement, ‘BWF has decided to hold the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2022 to another venue after consultation with the Chinese Badminton Association due to the situation arising out of the Corona epidemic. We thank the Thailand Badminton Association, who made arrangements to host the tournament at such a short notice.

From India, only HS Prannoy will participate. Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu also qualified but withdrew as she could not fully recover from a fracture in her left ankle.
