New Delhi. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, the match between Manipur and Punjab is being played in Jaipur. In this match, Manipur won the toss and decided to bat first. But, the bowlers of Punjab bowled such a deadly bowling, in the game of 20 overs, Manipur team was all out for just 40 runs. Manipur team could play only 14.1 overs. Mayank Markandeya, the leg-spinner who played for Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022, wreaked havoc on Manipur. He took 4 wickets for 4 runs in 3.1 overs. He bowled 15 dot balls out of 19. Five batsmen of Manipur could not even open the account. Rex Rajkumar scored more than 60 percent of the runs of Manipur team, only one batsman. He scored 25 runs in 23 balls with the help of 4 fours.

Batting first, Manipur got off to a bad start. On the fourth ball of the match, Manipur opener Nitesh Sedai was out lbw off Punjab’s pacer Abhishek Sharma. He could not even open the account. Till the team’s score reached 10 runs, 3 more batsmen returned to the pavilion. Out of the three top order batsmen, the account of two did not open. Manipur lost their last 4 wickets in just 3 runs. Manipur’s last fallen wicket came in Mayank’s account. He completed his four wickets in the match by getting Narsingh Yadav out lbw. Apart from this, Mayank showed the way to the pavilion to Kishan Singha (1), Johnson Singh (0) and Langlonyamba (6). He clean bowled 3 out of 4 batsmen. In this year’s IPL auction, Mumbai Indians were bought for Rs 65 lakhs. However, Mayank got a chance to play in only 2 matches and he took one wicket.
