Dehradun: Cricket coach Narendra Shah had attempted suicide by consuming poison at his Nehru Colony home on Friday. He was immediately hospitalized, where he is on ventilator. Meanwhile, a case has been registered against him under POCSO. In fact, audios of obscene conversations with girls of Narendra Shah, who allegedly attempted suicide, went viral. After this, after the complaint of 3 teenage girls, a case has been registered against the coach under the POCSO Act. Regarding Shah, who had been coaching Indian women cricketer Sneh Rana, the police said – he was taken to Government Doon Medical College Hospital in critical condition and Currently on ventilator support. Meanwhile, a case has been registered against him. A police officer said that Shah took the drastic step after some audio clips of him speaking inappropriately to a girl student surfaced on social media a few days back.

According to the Nehru Colony Police, Narendra Shah has been booked under sections of POCSO and indecent acts (IPC 354A) on the complaint of the family of 3 cricketers. On the other hand, the State Cricket Board has also taken away all the responsibilities and posts from Narendra. Narendra runs the Little Master Club in Dehradun, while Chamoli was also the secretary of the district association. There are reports that she also had the responsibility of women’s cricket in the Uttarakhand Cricket Association, but she has been removed from the responsibility after the matter came to light.

Bowling all-rounder Sneh Rana, who is currently ranked 15th in T20Is among bowlers, hails from Dehradun and trains at the academy in the city where Shah is the coach. She was a reserve player for India in the Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa and was included in the squad for the semi-finals as a substitute. She played for Gujarat Giants in the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL).
