Sunil Gavaskar told the lack, Pakistan has a dangerous player like Pandya, yet he did not give a chance against India

New Delhi. The thrill of T20 World Cup 2022 is at its peak. In the eighth season of the prestigious tournament, the Indian team is galloping on the track of victory. Team India got a thrilling victory on the last ball against arch-rivals Pakistan in their very first match. After this, the Blue Army won a bold 56-run victory against the Netherlands.

After the thrilling victory against Pakistan, the countrymen are very happy. At the same time, there is mourning in the neighboring country of Pakistan, and former cricketers are venting their anger on Babar Army. People are questioning Babur’s decisions. People say why Shaheen Afridi was kept in the team despite not being fully fit, while Mohammad Wasim was available as a substitute.

Amidst allegations and counter-allegations, now former Indian team captain Sunil Gavaskar has also questioned Pakistan’s playing XI selection. He says that Pakistan had an all-rounder like Hardik Pandya, but they did not give him a chance in the crucial match against India.

In a special conversation with India Today, Gavaskar said, ‘Pakistan does not have a strong middle order. Fakhar Zaman is often seen batting at number three or four, but he is not a part of the playing XI. Masood is definitely scoring runs, yet I think his team selection is not good. If you have a bowler who can bowl along the seam and hit some great shots as Wasim did against Zimbabwe, then he definitely deserves a place in the team.

He further said, ‘Wasim has such ability. They have a dangerous player like Pandya. Admittedly, he is new now, but he has the ability to hit big shots, as well as bowl. Still, he did not get a chance in the crucial match against India. He entered the field with two spinners. In Sydney it works, but the rest of the grounds in Australia need players who can contribute with the bat as well as bowling when needed.
