T20 Rankings: Virat Kohli enters top-10 in T20 rankings, Suryakumar Yadav suffers loss

Dubai: India’s star batsman Virat Kohli broke into the top-10 list of batsmen in the T20 rankings on the basis of his brilliant innings against Pakistan. Kohli scored an unbeaten 82 against Pakistan, helping India win the match off the last ball. With this innings, Kohli has jumped five places to the ninth position.

Before the Asia Cup held in UAE, Virat was ranked 35th in the rankings. He scored a fifty against Pakistan in the tournament. In the last match against Afghanistan, Virat’s bat scored a century. After the Asia Cup, he had moved up to 15th place in the rankings. Now he has come at number 9 after playing a bang in the first match of the World Cup.

Rizwan remains on top

Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan (849 rating points) is at the top spot, while New Zealand opener Devon Conway (831) has moved up three places to replace Suryakumar Yadav at the second spot. Conway played an unbeaten 92 off 58 balls against Australia as New Zealand beat the defending champions by 89 runs. Rizwan was able to play an innings of just 4 runs in 12 balls against India.

In the match against Pakistan, Surya started well but could not play a big innings. Suryakumar has 828 rating points and has slipped to the third position. He is followed by Pakistan captain Babar Azam (799) and South Africa’s Aiden Markram (762). Babar Azam’s account was not even opened in the match against India. He became the victim of Arshdeep Singh on the very first ball.
