T20 World Cup 2022: India lost the semi-finals, now the final will be in England and Pakistan
Adelaide. India has lost the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup. England beat India by 10 wickets in the semi-finals on Thursday. The Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, made a decent score while batting first. Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya played half-centuries. But after this, it was as if a storm had come on the field. In front of the aggressive batting of English opener Jos Buttler and Alex Hales, the Indian pace attack was scattered as if it was a Hawa Mahal. Now the final of the World Cup will be held on Sunday, in which England will face Pakistan (PAK vs ENG).
The second semi-final of the 20 World Cup was played on Thursday between India and England. England captain Jose Butler won the toss and chose to bowl first. The English bowlers, proving their captain’s decision right, put pressure on the Indian batsmen from the very beginning. How slow the Indian batsmen batted in the beginning can be gauged from the fact that it took 15 overs for the team’s score to reach 100. The Indian team scored 68 runs in the last 5 overs. In this way, in response to India’s 168/6 runs, England got a challenge of 169 runs.
Indian opener KL Rahul was dismissed after scoring 5 runs. Captain Rohit played a sluggish innings of 27 runs off 28 balls. Suryakumar’s magic also did not work in the semi-finals. He got out after scoring 14 runs in 10 balls.
Kohli handled, Pandya gave the pace
India lost the third wicket in the 12th over for 75 runs. After this, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya took over the team with a partnership of 61 runs. Virat got out after scoring 50 off 40 balls.
