New Delhi. The Indian cricket team was not at all happy with the post-practice food menu on Tuesday. Some members of Team India decided to return the food to their hotel rooms. The post-practice menu is almost the same for all the teams and the Indian players are not being served hot food, which according to BCCI sources is necessary after a rigorous practice session. The Indian team had an optional practice session on Tuesday. Apart from all the fast bowlers, all-rounder Hardik Pandya, batsman Suryakumar Yadav and spinner Axar Patel were rested.
It turns out that the post-practice meal consisted of custom sandwiches with fruit. With practice over, it was lunch time and players were probably looking forward to a complete meal. A BCCI official privy to the matter said, “It is not like a boycott… Some players took fruits but everyone wanted to have lunch and so they ate on their way back to the hotel.”
