Special record in the name of Hales-Butler
England reached the final
New Delhi. In the second semi-final match of the T20 World Cup 2022 against India, English opener Alex Hales and captain Jos Buttler were seen in great rhythm. Both the openers easily achieved the target of 169 runs given by India with 24 balls to spare. During this, there was an unbroken century partnership of 170 runs between the two players.
The English opening pair also achieved a special achievement during the match. Hales and Butler have become the biggest partnership pair in the history of T20 World Cup tournament. Before this pair, this special record was recorded in the name of South African openers Quinton de Kock and Riley Russo. Both these players had a century partnership of 168 runs for the second wicket against Bangladesh in the ongoing tournament itself.

In the third place comes the names of former Sri Lankan veteran batsmen Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara. Jayawardene and Sangakkara had a fine partnership of 166 runs against West Indies in 2010. After this comes the Pakistani pair of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. The pair had an unbroken century partnership of 152 runs against the Indian team in the year 2021.
Butler-Hales made second highest partnership for England in T20 International cricket:
The century partnership of 170 runs between Butler and Hales against India is the second highest partnership for England in T20 International cricket. The names of David Malan and Eoin Morgan come in the first place. Both these players had a fine century partnership of 182 runs in the year 2019.
