T20 World Cup: ‘New Zealand will come out cleverly in the match against Australia, but…’

Auckland. New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson is confident that his team will come out strategically smart in the ICC T20 World Cup Super-12 match against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday. Jamieson, sidelined due to a back injury, said the Black Caps recently lost an ODI series against Trans-Tasman rivals in Cairns, but T20 cricket is a different ball game altogether and anything can happen .

Jamieson was quoted as saying by Saenz Breakfast, ‘I will support the team on Saturday. I will also encourage you as well. I am sure they will come out very clever and play with that freedom and try to take them to the big stage.

T20 World Cup: Aaron Finch told before the AUS vs NZ match, who will take his wicket!

Australia, led by Aaron Finch, have emerged as the favorites in the opening Super 12 match due to their home advantage and history on their side. For New Zealand, this is an extremely important match as they also have England in their group, one of the toughest T20I teams in the group, and could make their job of reaching the semi-finals very difficult if they lose to Jos Buttler’s side.

Jamieson further said, ‘We have already seen through the qualifying matches that everyone can beat everyone on their day. I think that is the beauty of T20 cricket. Jamieson plans to make an appearance in local cricket in the near future before returning to the national team.

The Super 12 leg of the T20 World Cup will open on Saturday at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on the same lines as the 2021 final between Australia and New Zealand in Dubai. Both Australia and New Zealand will be keeping an eye on the pitch and on-field conditions as well as the threat of rain, which is expected to rain 90 per cent. The second match of the Super 12 phase will be played between England and Afghanistan.
