T20 World Cup: Players will benefit from playing in foreign leagues… Rahul Dravid’s big statement after T20 World Cup defeat

Adelaide: The Indian team is out of the T20 World Cup 2022. In the first tournament held in 2007, India won the title under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Since then the team is still waiting for the title. India scored 168 and England chased down the target in 16 overs without losing a wicket. Alex Hales and Jos Buttler batted brilliantly. After the match, the head coach of the team, Rahul Dravid spoke to the media.

Dravid said on playing in foreign league

Indian players do not play in any T20 league in the world other than IPL. But this is not the case with players from other countries. Alex Hales, who led England to victory, is among the top players of Australia’s T20 league Big Bash. Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has also played a lot of cricket in Big Bash.

After the match, Rahul Dravid said on Indian players playing in foreign T20 leagues, “Playing in foreign leagues will definitely help our players.” This decision has to be taken by the BCCI.

He further said on this, ‘There is no doubt that many of their players have the experience of playing in Australia. But it is difficult for Indian players to play BBL because our domestic season is also going on during that time.

Fear of ending domestic cricket

Rahul Dravid said that if Indian players are allowed to play in foreign T20 leagues, then our domestic cricket will end. He said, ‘The kind of demand from Indian players, if you allow Indian players to participate in foreign leagues, then our domestic cricket and Ranji Trophy will be finished. We have seen what it has done for West Indies cricket.
