T20 World Cup: Uproar in Punjab over Pakistan’s defeat, pelting stones, Kashmir and Bihar connection

New Delhi: England won their second title by defeating Pakistan in the final of the T20 World Cup last night. After the defeat of Babur’s army, two factions clashed in Moga, Punjab. The incident is from a private college here. In fact, a group of students from Jammu and Kashmir clashed with students from Bihar and other states at Lala Lajpat Rai College of Engineering and Management (LLRM). Some students from both the sides were injured in this incident.

Controversy started with slogans

Initial investigation revealed that the brawl took place after Pakistan’s defeat to England in the T20 World Cup final. Kashmiri students, mostly belonging to a particular community, were allegedly supporting Pakistan, while another group of students from Bihar and other states allegedly raised anti-Pakistan slogans, following which the matter gained momentum and Both sides pelted stones at each other. Local police officials claimed that the situation was now under control.

Several students injured in the incident

The injured students were rushed to the district hospital, out of which nine have been admitted to the emergency ward. Senior Medical Officer of the hospital Dr. Sukhpreet Singh Brar said that no one was seriously injured in the incident. Some students were given first aid. Immediately heavy police force was deployed in and around the college campus and hostel. Meanwhile, Kashmiri students alleged that students from Bihar and other states used abusive language against their religion. A Kashmiri student, who was injured in the clash, said, “When they pelted stones at us, we also responded in the same way.”

England became champion for the second time
