Team India starts practice at Oval before Test Championship final, title clash will be held here
London: Ahead of the World Test Championship Final (WTC Final) against Australia, the Indian Test team began their practice session at The Oval on Sunday. India will play Australia in the much-anticipated WTC final from June 7 to 11 at The Oval. BCCI shared a picture of the players running on the field at the iconic venue. ‘Hello from The Oval,’ the BCCI said in a tweet. On May 25, the BCCI, through its official Twitter handle, had said that members of the Indian team such as Akshar Patel, Umesh Yadav, Shardul Thakur along with head coach Rahul Dravid and other support staff The members have started practice at the picturesque Arundel Castle Cricket Club in the town of Arundel. On May 29, the BCCI shared pictures of charismatic batsmen Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Jaydev Unadkat, Mohammed Siraj and Ravichandran Ashwin engaged in practice and interaction with members of the support staff at Arundel.
Captain Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan and reserve player Mumbai young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal joined the practice sessions from May 30. While Ravindra Jadeja, Shubman Gill, Mohammed Shami, KS Bharat and Ajinkya Rahane joined the team on June 1 after playing in the IPL final in Ahmedabad, while Mohammed Shami joined the practice on June 2.

India will play the final for the second time. In 2021, India lost to Kane Williamson’s New Zealand at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. Rohit is ready to captain the Test team on foreign soil for the first time. The winners of the WTC Finals will receive a purse of $1.6 million while the loser will receive $800,000.
