India Vs South Africa: Team India can get a big setback before the T20 series against South Africa starting on 28 September. India’s star fast bowler Mohammed Shami is not yet able to beat the corona virus. The possibility of Mohammed Shami being ruled out of the T20 series against South Africa has increased.

Mohammed Shami returned to Team India after the poor performance of Indian fast bowlers in the Asia Cup. But just before the start of the series against Australia, Mohammed Shami’s corona virus report came positive and he was ruled out of the three-match T20 series.

Earlier it was expected that Mohammed Shami would be fit till the South Africa series. But a source associated with the Indian team said, “Shami has not recovered from the corona virus. The medical team is keeping an eye on Shami. We are hopeful that Mohammed Shami will be fully fit before leaving for Australia for the T20 World Cup.

Umran Malik may get a place

Let us tell you that Mohammed Shami has got a place in the list of reserve players for the T20 World Cup. However, Shami has not played any T20 match for India after the T20 World Cup last year. But Shami got a place in the list of reserve players on the basis of his experience.

Team India, however, has prepared its backup plan in case Shami does not play. If Shami is not fit for the South Africa series, then Umran Malik may return to Team India. Umran Malik was dropped from Team India after the England tour.
