The Indian women’s cricket team’s tour of England is over. After losing the T20I series, Indian women won the ODI series 3-0. The last match played at Lord’s became memorable forever. If veteran player and former captain Jhulan Goswami ended his international cricket with this match, Deepti Sharma’s Mankading runout controversy will also be remembered for years, but in the midst of all this another untoward happened.
Some unknown people entered the hotel room of Indian team wicketkeeper batsman Tania Bhatia and on seeing the opportunity took away many valuables from her. Tania has shared her ordeal on social media. Tania tweeted, “Shocked and disappointed with the Marriott Hotel Management. There was a burglary in my room. My bag full of cash, cards, watches and jewellery, has been stolen. There is no arrangement at Marriott Hotel. Hope this matter will be investigated and resolved soon. Such an incident in the favorite hotel of the England Cricket Board is full of astonishment. Hope they also take note.
Tania did not get a chance to play a single ODI or T20 match in the tour. The nearly 25-year-old Tania has played two Tests, 19 ODIs and 53 T20 Internationals for India.
