But failed to save six

New Delhi. The 20th match of the T20 World Cup 2022 is going on between England and Ireland at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. In this match, Ireland’s team, batting first after losing the toss, was bundled out for 157 runs in 19.2 overs. At the same time, chasing the target, the English team has not started much. The team’s first three big wickets have fallen for just 29 runs in 5.1 overs. For the team, at present, experienced third-order batsmen David Malan (20) and Harry Brooke (06) are in the field.

Earlier, during the fielding, the English players were very alert in the field. A video during the match has been shared by the ICC on its official Instagram account. The good fielding of Sam Curran is being seen in this video.

Actually, the third over for the English team was being bowled by fast bowler Mark Wood. Paul Stirling tried to hit a big shot on the very first ball of this over of Wood. Here he was lucky and managed to get a six.

However, Sam Karen’s fielding near the boundary has little to be appreciated. Paul Stirling tried to pull the flamboyant ball of Wood. But the ball went behind taking the upper edge of the bat. Here Sam Karen was posted with promptness.

Karen tried to take the first catch. But when he felt that he would not be able to catch the ball, he threw the ball outside before falling inside the boundary.

During this it seemed that he had successfully saved the six, but when seen in the replays, his foot was seen lightly touching the boundary line. Because of which this ball was called a six. But Karen is to be commended for her fine fielding.

Talk about the performance of both the players in these matches, where Sterling contributed 14 runs in eight balls for the Irish team. While for the English team, Karen bowled four overs and got two successes by spending 31 runs.
