UP Team: Cricketer made by burning blood in a kiln fire, used to carry bricks for 250 rupees, now this daily wage laborer will play from UP

Lucknow: Those who make noise in the crowd, remain as a crowd, success in life is achieved by those who do their work in silence. 100% applies to Kumar (22). This youth, who works as a daily wage worker for Rs 250, has been included in the UP Ranji team. He is a pacer and considers Jasprit Bumrah as his hero.

Poverty so much that he could not save his father
Despite losing his father to Kovid-19 in 2020, he did not give up and wrote a new script with the insistence and passion of becoming a cricketer while doing daily wages. He tells about his struggle – I used to bake bricks and carry them in a hand-pulled cart. I work as a laborer since childhood. The income of our family was not enough to meet the household expenses. Let alone my dream of becoming a cricketer, I could not save my father due to lack of adequate resources. He was already a cancer patient and died due to corono virus infection during the first wave of the pandemic.

Used to practice at the brick kiln as soon as he got free time
He told that my elder brother is also a laborer, while my younger brother studies in a school. I was deeply interested in cricket but didn’t know how to start. I worked at a brick kiln during the day and practiced in the evening at a training center at Maple Academy near my village. Few days back my hard work paid off and I got selected in Ranji team. I am really thankful to Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA).

Surprised by his selection, said – UPCA has made life
He said- I had heard that only rich and resourceful people are selected, but I got a place in the third attempt on the basis of my talent. The young pacer said, ‘I am bowling at a speed of 130-135 km / h. I want to touch the speed of 150 km/h.

Coach raised expenses and hard work did wonders
He told that his expenses were borne by his coach Sunny Singh. He says- I started playing in Maples Academy near my village in 2018. My training was free and all my expenses were borne by my coach Sunny Singh. He further said- Wherever I go to play matches, he bears all the expenses. When I got selected for Ranji, I did not even have money to reach Kanpur from Shamli. My coach then helped me. Vikas Kumar, the coordinator of Shamli Cricket Association, also helped me a lot. He gives me tips on playing Ranji.

Jasprat Bumrah is considered a hero
He considers Jasprit Bumrah as his hero. He said- Jasprit Bumrah is my source of inspiration. Seeing him play made my passion for cricket even greater. He is my favorite player. UPCA media manager Ahmed Ali Khan alias Talib said about this, “I am very happy with this selection. This is an example of our transparent selection process. UPCA is always ready to appreciate the young and budding talents.
