VIDEO Rashid Khan shoves Farooqui on the field, angry reaction goes viral

New Delhi. Afghanistan was finally on the field once again in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 after a gap of 10 days. Earlier, Afghanistan’s last two matches against New Zealand and Ireland were washed out due to rain in Melbourne. However, the return on the field was not very good for the Mohammad Nabi-led side. They suffered their second defeat in the tournament against Sri Lanka at the Gabba in Brisbane on Tuesday, 1 November. During this match, Rashid Khan along with his team was also seen getting angry on player Fazlhaq Farooqui.

Afghanistan got off to a good start by winning the toss and batting first, but after that they lost wickets at regular intervals. In the end, his team could only score 144 runs for eight wickets. For him, opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 28 and Usman Ghani scored 27 runs. For Sri Lanka, Hasaranga took three wickets for 13 runs in four overs while fast bowler Lahiru Kumara took two wickets for 30 runs in four overs.

After this Sri Lanka came out to bat. Afghanistan’s dangerous bowling attack gave a tough competition to Sri Lanka. Afghanistan kept their hand up in at least the first 10 overs before Dhananjay de Silva dominated. Rashid Khan (2 for 31) dismissed Mendis in his first over. Rashid was satisfied that he got a wicket. However, he was upset with what happened earlier in the over. Afghanistan pacer Fazlhaq Farooqui misfielded at backward point in the first over and Rashid was not happy with it. The leg-spinner remembered this and even though his teammates surrounded him after getting the wicket, he warned Farooqui of his mistake. Rashid held Farooqui’s head in his hands and behaved as if he was going to kill him. Although it all happened in jest, Rashid’s angry reaction has gone viral on the internet.

Let us inform that Sri Lanka defeated Afghanistan by six wickets with nine balls to spare in the Super-12 match of the T20 World Cup with the help of brilliant performance of bowlers led by spinner Wanindu Hasaranga and half-century from Dhananjay de Silva. While Sri Lanka kept their hopes of reaching the semi-finals alive with this win, Afghanistan have been out of the race for the last four.
