VIDEO: Shreyas Iyer slap shot… this Indian player narrowly survived

New Delhi. The third and deciding match of the ODI series is being held in Christchurch on Wednesday between India and New Zealand. After the quick fall of Shubman Gill’s wicket, Shreyas Iyer came to bat at number 3. Before getting out, he played an inning of 49 runs in 59 balls. Where Indian batsmen were struggling on the ground of Hagley Oval, Iyer hit 8 brilliant fours in his innings. Meanwhile, the middle-order batsman hit such a shot that his fellow batsman had to jump and save himself from the ball.

Rishabh Pant was batting with Shreyas Iyer in the 17th over of the Indian innings. Adam Milne had come to do this over. On the first ball of the over, Shreyas hit a fast bullet shot which went straight towards Rishabh Pant standing on the non-striker. Pant reacted fast seeing the ball coming towards him and jumped. This ball came out very close to him and reached outside the boundary. In this over of Milne, Iyer hit two fours and scored a total of 9 runs. Shreyas is running in the best form in ODI format this year. He has scored 615 runs in 12 innings of ODIs in 2022 at an average of 61.50 and a strike rate of 95.49. This includes one century and five half-centuries.
