After Rodrigues, Hemlata shines in bowling

Disappointment for Sri Lanka women’s team
New Delhi. The second match of the Women’s Asia Cup 2022 was played between the Indian women’s team and the Sri Lanka women’s team at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday. In this match, the Indian team won by 41 runs. Actually in this match Sri Lankan team won the toss and invited the Indian team to bat first. Accepting the invitation, the Indian women’s team managed to score 150 runs in the allotted overs for the loss of six wickets. Jemima Rodrigues, who came to bat at the third order for the team, contributed the most of 76 runs in 53 balls at a strike rate of 143.39. During this, 11 fours and a great six came off his bat.
Apart from Rodrigues, the second highest score for the Blue team was Captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Batting at the fourth order for the team, he played an important innings of 33 runs in 30 balls. Apart from these two batsmen, only Shefali Verma (10) and Dayalan Hemlata (13 *) could reach the double figures.

The most successful bowler for the Sri Lankan women’s team was Oshadi Ranasinghe. He bowled four overs for the team, spending 32 runs and made the most of three successes. Apart from Oshadi, Captain Chamari Atapattu and Sugandha Kumari managed to take one wicket each respectively.
Chasing the target of 151 runs given by the Indian women’s team, the Sri Lankan women’s team was bundled out for 109 runs in 18.2 overs. Opener Harshita Samarwickrama (26) and middle-order batsman Hasini Perera (30) showed courage for the team, but she also lost courage due to lack of help from other players.
Dayalan Hemlata was the most successful bowler for the Indian women’s team. He took the most three wickets for the team. Apart from this, Pooja Vastrakar and Deepti Sharma took two wickets each and Radha Yadav took one wicket respectively.
