New Delhi. Team India all-rounder Washington Sundar has said that he is preparing himself for the upcoming ODI World Cup to be held in India next year. Sundar missed out on making it to the T20 World Cup this year, but has been recalled to the limited-overs squad and has done well with both bat and ball in the opportunities he has got so far. Sundar is working on improving ‘power hitting’ as per the requirement of the team for next year’s ODI World Cup.
Washington Sundar, known for his ‘timing and placement’ in batting, has played some sharp innings. He recently scored an aggressive half-century on the New Zealand tour, while the Sunrisers Hyderabad player played a memorable 14-ball 40 against Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). On the eve of the third ODI against Bangladesh, this player said, “For the last few years, I am getting such a role (fast batting). It requires a special kind of batting and I am working accordingly.”
